Under the SADA VIRSA SADA PARIVAAR event Students in holy city pay tributes to Chaar Sahibzaday

AKAL PURAKH KI FAUJ ORGANISED THE EVENT IN HOLY CITY, WHEREIN 972 STUDENTS FROM VARIOUS SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES TOOK PART

AMRITSAR (26-12-14) : Sikh organisation ‘Akal Purakh ki Fauj’ organised an event ‘Sada Virsa Sada Parivaar’ on Thursday at Sant Singh Sukha Singh Khalsa Senior Secondary school campus. Students competed in turban tying, domala tying, poetry and slogan writing competitions.

As many as 972 students, both girls and boys, from various schools and colleges participated and performed at the event.

The most fascinating feature of the programme was turban competition where girls dressed up in white attire and traditional style turbans by adding few elegant accessories to it.

Even the baptised tiny tots of three to ten years were dressed up like a Khalsa and participated in the turban-tying competition followed by the poetry recitation.

Young students also narrated names of ten gurus, four Sahibzadas and ‘panj pyaare’.

Advocate Jaswinder Singh, director of Akal Purakh ki Fauj, said, “We wanted to create awareness among students and their parents about the four sahibzadas which Sikh gurus have made.

He added that the movie “Char Sahibzade”, which increased knowledge of children about the sacrifices of Sikh martyrs. He said children, who had watched the movie, were now aware of the supreme sacrifice of the four sons of Guru Gobind Singh.

The organisation stated that the motive of the function was to encourage children to follow the path shown by Sikh gurus. SGPC secretary Roop Singh, Satbir Singh, executive member Rajinder Singh Mehta, Sant Singh Sukha Singh School director Jagdish Singh, Jaswinder Singh Jassi and many others were present on the occasion.
